I haven't written in a few weeks mostly because it's been relatively quiet and things are running very smoothly. Fathers are so pleased with the Masses returning to normal!
Just a few things:
1. Don't forget to phone the rectory office with the name of a family member who died from covid-19 if you want their name read during the Mass on Friday, June 18. Thank you to those families who have already phoned us. Those names are on file.
2. The St. Mark School bottle/can drive for July is going to be moved to the second Saturday in July since the first weekend of July includes the 4th, a holiday, and many people are away on vacation, etc. So the bottle/can drive is being held on Saturday, July 8th, in front of the Parish Center starting at 10:00 a.m.
3. Do I sound like a broken record? Probably. But Father Birendra has asked me to again remind parishioners to phone or eMail me/Joan with any change of address or phone number. Thanks!
4. CONGRATULATIONS to our St. Mark School 8th Grade Graduating Class! We wish them great success as they head off to High School in the fall.
5. And congratulations are also in order to Mrs. Agnes Miller, the St. Mark School 8th grade teacher who will be retiring after teaching for 35 years! We wish her the best of luck in her well-deserved retirement!
6. Update on the bird situation! No hummingbirds! What gives! I put out fresh nectar for them in the feeder! I'm not feeling the love.
7. However, and this is a BIG however, I've finally become a (sort of) grandmother! When I pulled out of the garage this morning one of the hens from the "harem" of wild turkeys in our backyard was sitting in the yard with five of the cutest little chicks running all around her! Since I cannot get either of my two sons married, I guess I have to rely on "turkeys" to give me grandchildren!!!!! How sad is that?
Everyone, have the best week ever!
